Hey chaozz,

Das lang geleden .. Smiley

@johan: do you see an english flag on screen? try clicking that. must be an old cookie issue.

@black5: this was also pointed out by several others, I will try and fix that today.

People who get an error on the new site like johan, click the english flag once to set the language cookie. This is actually a bug, so I am working on it. Smiley

Secondly, good news, I fixed the FireFox issues. There are still some small things I need to tweak, but I am getting there. Cool

Great  Grin - the FF bug is fixed, as far as I can tell.

But - when placing an order and the confirmation e-Mail is being send, the complete description of the article is send, in case of a detailed description of a book (or several) this could be a rather long e-MAil. In the Previous Version I turned this OFF, so that only the Headder / Main title of the Article was in the e-Mail.

I would prefer a VAT field for each item (books for exaample are 7% in Germany while "normal" stuff is still 16%, from January 1st it will be 19%.
The VAT should be calculated for each item - Also what happens to the VAT on the Shippimng costs. If the merchandise has a VAT of 7% the Shipping charges are also calculated by 7%, and if merchandise has 16% shipping is also 16% (strange German law, but the shipping costs will have the same tax rate as the shipped items).

So - it would be useful to have the tax "adjustable" for each article and the shipping charges should then "use" the tax-rate of the articles.

next -  please

I don't think it is necessary to havean option to turn OFF the tax in the prices in the Article listing, since it is European Law that in internet businesses (B2C) all given prices should be with all applicable taxes. And - in addition - the user should be able - within 1 mouseclick to see the appropiate shiiping costs for these articles.
This means that you should have an internal link to a page which states all the shipping costs for the articles. If someone wants to give shipping costs by weight - each and every article should then have an indication for the weight, so that the total could be calculated.

Weird Laws - but thats the way it is.

When disabling the postal service in the shipping section you get an SQl error

Just a tiny problem
the "open-folder" icons are 50x50 pixels, which turns them rather fuzzy, you should try the set the default icons to 32x32 which gives them a much smoother appearance and in addition the size of the picture in the cats should be made resizable, otherwise one should have to resize all picture before uploading.

Just an idea

fixed: The confirmation email now uses the same settings as the product list and cart do. So the "Maximum description lenght" option and the "Pricelist format" option in the settings screen now both also apply to the confirmation mail.

What tax rate should the shipping costs have if I order a book (6%) and a TFT(19%) at the same time? Individual tax rates for products could be done.. but I don't see how the shipping rates should be calculated with mixed orders.

Turning it off is useful for people who want to sell personal items, like on eBay. They don't need to calculate tax for selling personal stuff without profit. Thats why the option is build in.

I tried it, but I don't get that error. Weird?

I will change it to 32x32, and see how it looks. By the way, if anyone has better graphics, please post them or send them. Smiley

Thanks for all the notes!!!!!

I don't know how this is handled in the Netherlands, but in Germany if you sell items on the internet via a shop, you are considered a commercial dealer , no private person anymore, which in turn means you have to pay taxes and you have to indicated/state these taxes close to the selling price of the article. There is one exception, according to german tax law - if you earn less than 16000 Euro annually and you decided to select this option, you will not pay the sales taxes (Ust), but you have to state on your site that you are exempted from tax-value-indication (or whatever it is called) and are not allowed to indicate the tax on your bills. Which in turn means, a buyer when buying for a business cannot get the paid taxes back.

Quite complicated...

According to the shipping costs and the tax -
the taxvalue for the shipping cost will be the tax of the higherpriced item - weird - ehh?
Which means if you sell different taxed items, eq. books and flat-screens, the shipping charge will be 16% (as for the TFT) unless you sell 200 books and only 1 TFT, in this case the total value for the books will be higher than that of the single TFT and the shipping-tax will 7%.
An option would be two different shippings, one only with books and one with the TFT  Cry
