My guess is that most shops will use 1 or maximum 2 languages. It's up to the admin to create groups and categories that are understandable to everyone. Adding a group if you have 5 languages, would mean you have to give 5 different names. A bit confusing I think?

About the language file. It should pick UK if the loading of the default language as set in the settings fails. I don't know why it doesn't work, so I'll re-investigate.

If you have entered an article in the product listing but want to put the picture later in or want to change the picture , you have to call that article, update ist, even if you made no changes to the text, just in order to get the option of uploading a picture. This should be in my opinion right to the other option (edit / delete / picture)

One thing else, if you safe a picture as PNG, rename it to JPG and upload it, it will display correctly, so why not upload PNGs directly?

the picture option is a good idea!

the png, yes. i have to make choises. i can't support all formats, because for every format i have to do some checks. i've decided to support gif and jpg. seems enough right? maybe future version will support more formats. it probably will.

about the new version.. i could always compile a pre-beta version.

About the picture  - I think GIF is still a little problem, since the copyright on the compression algorythm is still active. I know that most people like GIF but I think the better option are JPG, JPG2000 (the new compression) and PNG. Forget about the other stuff, TIFF, AIF, BMP, ICO, and what else is available.

I think
JPG - (Big pictures, small size , medium quality)
GIF - (256 Colors, 1 transparent color)
PNG - ("loss-less" compression, best quality, even IE knows how to display alpha-channels)
should be enough

I know - I am a pain the a.. (neck)  Grin

While trying version 2.1 a couple of weeks ago I used TinyMCE as Wysiwyg Edior for the Article description. Since HTML code is allowed, and bold and italics and colored  text and so on catch the customers eye, what do you think about putting in an option to use a WYSIWYG editor. Not everyone knows HTML     Cry

png support was added. also, the direct picture change link was added.

wysiwyg.. seems like a lot of work. maybe a small toolbar with some basics, like on this forum.

ps: yes, you're too fast Wink

Just noticed -

when you select an article from the list and you want to view the next on, you have to go back to the articlelist and then select the next article.

Possible to have in the article detail something like <previous> and <next> buttons to browse the articles in the detailed view?

In addition with Black5's suggestion, can you add a feature wherein you can specify the number of items per page on a product list? For example, 10 items per page, some of my customers use dial-up access and they have a hard time viewing my shop due to lot of items on a particular category. Moreover, controlling the number of items per page will load the page faster.

Thanks,
Jun

I think it would be nice to try the new 2.2 (beta) on ones own server.
Ther are, in my opinion, to much guys who just enter useless characters as articles and article description.
In addition uses everone the same loginname and passwort, which means I cannot setup the shop correctly, because someone else will set the shop different a couple of minutes later  Angry.

So, how about a pre-release beta download?
